Divers have a choice of 3, 4, and 7 day expeditions to world renown diving destinations of the
Cod Hole, Ribbon Reefs, and Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea. These unique ecosystems showcase an amazing
diversity from picturesque coral gardens crowned with delicate anemones and colorful reef fish to
the 1000 metre walls of the volcanic atolls of the Coral Sea, home territory for reef sharks,
whalers, schooling hammerheads, mantas, schools of barracuda and mackeral, and massive red and
yellow soft corals.
The 3 Day/ 3 Night Cod Hole tour offers the opportunity for up to 11 dives along the remote and
beautiful Ribbon Reefs. You will encounter clouds of colourful tropical fish, an incredible variety
of vibrant healthy corals, giant clams, huge schools of cruising pelagic fish, and a family of
giant potato cod at the world famous Cod Hole. This tour finishes with a low level reef flight
from Lizard Island to Cairns.
Commencing with a flight from Cairns to Lizard Island, the 4 Day/ 4 Night Coral Sea tour offers
up to 15 dives on the Ribbon Reefs and Osprey Reef. Lying 220 km off the Queensland coast in the
Coral Sea, Osprey Reef offers spectacular walls, huge soft corals, big schools of pelagic
fish, and exceptional visibility. Here you can experience amazing shark action with the shark
attraction dive at North Horn. This tour is recommended for a minimum level of PADI Advanced or
equivalent, and above.
For those divers with the luxury of time, the 7 Day/ 7 night tour offers the opportunity for
up to 26 dives in the diverse eco systems of the Great Barrier Reef – Ribbon Reefs, and Coral Sea –
Osprey Reef. Mid-way in your 7 days the Spirit of Freedom will pull into secluded Watson's
Bay for an overnight stay and a couple of hours ashore at Lizard Island the following morning.
