Trade in the Winter Blues for some Tropical blues!
|
Hi %%First%% %%lname%%,
It seemed that we went from a long warm summer straight into sub Antarctic winds, rain, hail and snow. Winter is now very definitely here and is forecast to hang around for the next 4-5 months!
Meanwhile, a bit further north, our South Pacific neighbours are enjoying blue skies, balmy 27-30°C temperatures, warm water with a vis of 25-35 mtr and glowing tropical sunsets.
This tropical playground, right in NZ’s own backyard, is only a short flight away from Auckland. So you can wake up on a cold Winter’s morning in NZ and be swimming in a tropical 28°C ocean by early afternoon.
Here in New Zealand we are lucky to have so many of the World's best diving locations only a short flight away. Isn't it time you went? Time to recharge your batteries, soak up some tropical sun and use up some of that extra annual leave we now have!

No question about it - Diving for, and catching, crayfish and scallops is as exciting as it is rewarding. There's nothing better than the taste of freshly caught kai moana.
But there is far more to diving than crayfish and scallops. Diving is a wonderful recreational sport, so turn the "hunter - gatherer" mentality in you to get up close and personal with the underwater world and catch them on your camera.
Become part of nature. Experience an underwater kaleidoscope, from the profusion of colourful tropical marine life forms to the brightly coloured soft and hard corals that cover the reefs. Don't forget to take your underwater camera along with you as you'll find a million different photo opportunities down under.
Become part of history. Experience WWII ship and plane wrecks, complete with bombs, tanks and all the paraphenalia of war from a bygone age. After 60 years underwater, these wrecks now form amazing artificial reefs teeming with tropical marine life
.
Become part of the Predators' Playground. Experience the thrill of Big Fish Action, diving among Pelagics like sharks (friendly ones!), whales, manta rays and grouper. Seeing them up close and personal will give you an adrenaline rush you'll never get from a crayfish!
Combine your passion for diving with your love of the ocean.

| Liveaboard diving: The ultimate way to Dive |
Why is it that once our clients have dived from a liveaboard dive boat they seldom go back to land based options ?
The avid diver knows the advantages of live-aboard diving - you cruise to remote unspoiled reefs to find superior marine life, big pelagic fish and undamaged reefs. Since the big live-aboards anchor at the dive sites you can do up to four dives per day, including a night dive.
With air-conditioned cabins, sumptuous chef-prepared meals, hostess in attendance and unparalleled crew generally service (up to one crew member for every three passengers), the live-aboards offer some of the best diving in South Pacific.
Experience exciting drift and wall dives, superb fish life with BIG schools of pelagic fish, night dives, soft corals, a shark feeding station. On a liveaboard trip you will see more spectacular marine life in the course of one day than you would see on a whole trip elsewhere.
Liveaboard vessels will spoil you for future diving. Huge undercover dive decks, unique entry/exit platforms and large inflatable dive enders make diving a breeze.
Set departures
All liveaboards have set schedules, mostly 7, 9 or 14 days, although some offer 3 or 4 days in Queensland.

| A Chance to dive at one of the Remotest dive sites in the world. |
Special Charter: MV Telita, PNG. 14 Night Special Charter. 28 June 2009.
Opportunities like this are very few and far between. LAST 2 SPACES LEFT

Virgin reef diving, no crowds (apart from the abundant fish), just 9 divers and you.
Ron and Christine Blake who are keen adventurers, underwater video photographers and Directors of Dive Fish Snow Travel, have experienced diving at PNG and throughout the world. Join them on their holiday and their slice of heaven this June.
It’s been their dream for many years to dive the remote northern most reefs and islands of PNG, which are a long long way from civilization. Here you will find virgin dive sites, impressive marine life, turtles, mantras, whale sharks, (if luck is on your side), gropers, a real predators' playground surrounded by a dazzling variety of reef critters and a kaleidoscope of magnificent corals, and a few WWII wrecks.
Special 14 night charter during the best weather window of the year
Kavieng, Tingwon, Manus, Hermit, Heina and Ninigo Reefs, Wewak : These areas are accessible for divers once or twice a year, if at all.
The logistics of diving such remote areas requires a liveaboard - but not just any live aboard dive boat: one that can run an extended 14-night charter. After researching the various boats' crews and the skippers, Ron and Christine have booked "MV Telita" for this 14 night dive adventure this winter.
"MV Telita" has a proud history of diving throughout PNG under her previous owners Bob and Dinah Halstead, who are authors of many books on diving PNG. Paul Baker, the current owner skipper, has been operating "MV Telita" for many years, carrying on the quest for the best diving PNG has to offer.

| Dive Holiday Tips on How to stretch your dollar further. |

“Earlybird Specials” are called just that as they need to be booked EARLY. By Winter when you are thinking about needing a winter holiday soon, the specials are all gone.
- Cheap seats on planes always sell out first, and fast. There is only a limited number of cheap seats on any flight, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
- Domestic flights to remote dive locations are often on small planes and they can fill up quickly, especially if a dive group is heading there when you want to.
- Dive operators in the best dive locations are often small operations who can only accommodate a small number of guests. They are often booked out months in advance, especially with dive groups.
- Accommodation and Resort specials are only valid while the Resorts have plenty of availability. Once rooms start filling up for those prime winter diving months, the specials are no longer available.
The best diving times often result from predictable phenomena such as moon phases, tides and wind patterns, coral spawning and plankton blooming that attracts the manta’s and whale sharks, and big fish action and that’s when all those “on to it “divers book themselves in early.
