Cross-Country Skiing
Nozawa has produced many Winter Olympic Athletes over the years. For those looking for a challenge, try the Olympic Cross Country Course and many more around lake Sutaka up at Uenotaira.
Fire Festival (Dosojin Matsuri)
Celebrated on the 15th of January each year, the Dosojin Matsuri (Dousoujiin) Festival is an exciting event with lots of fireworks and sake. It is held to pray for a plentiful harvest, health, good fortune for the year and snow.
Onsens
There are 30 different types of mineral hot springs throughout the village which feed the 13 public hot spring baths. Oyu and Ogama are regarded as it’s most recognizable onsen landmarks.
Snowmobiling
Enjoy a relaxing break from skiing and riding with a snowmobile excursion around the snowfields and along forest tracks, taking in the scenery of Nozawa with friends and family.
Snow Monkey Tours
Join a tour into the Yudanaka National Park to visit the majestic Nagano Snow Monkeys. Just a short drive from Nozawa Onsen.
