Silver Star is well known for hosting fun-filled activities – imagine racing down the mountain on a tube at Tube Town, skating on the natural outdoor skating pond, taking a snowmobile tour, snowshoe tour, dogsled tour, climbing wall, or nostalgic sleigh ride. If you just can’t get enough of the slopes during the day, try night skiing!

Silver Star’s ‘Focus on Family’, village comes alive every night of the week with fun, free events – carnival nights, fireworks extravaganzas, movie night, and live entertainment – you can even enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows by a roaring outdoor bonfires and watch a traditional game of ice hockey.

Tubing

Get ready for endless tubing fun in a safe, controlled environment. The tube lift lets you make run after run without hiking back to the top, or ever having to carry your tube sled. Truck-size inner tube sleds with safety handles are supplied.

Skating

Outdoor Skating is pure magic on Brewer's Pond, with a one-hectare natural skating surface, an outdoor fire and music. Skating passes and skate rentals available at the Tube Town Ticket Office.

Snowshoeing

Join Silver Star's mountain guides on an unforgettable adventure to discover the natural wonders of winter and explore the sub-alpine wilderness. They supply high performance snowshoes for a uniquely Canadian experience for all ages. Choose from one of the following options and don’t forget to bring your camera!

• Snowshoe Safaris – follow wildlife tracks through the forest
• Sunset Snowshoe Adventure – take a historic trail with spectacular views to watch the sunset
• Chocolate Dreams - snowshoe by starlight or snowflakes for a decadent chocolate fondue & sleigh ride back to the village.
• Starlight Cabin Rendezvous - snowshoe through the mystical forest for a delicious woodfire baked dinner in the comfort of the Wild Horseman's Cabin & sleigh ride back to the village
• Chinese New Year – snowshoe through the evening forest with lanterns, past snow dragons and serpents to the Wild Horseman’s Cabin for a Chinese supper, fun and fortunes, and a sleigh ride back.
• Sweethearts Chocolate Dreams – a special treat for you and your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day
• Ladies Day Snowshoe & Lunch – get active and have fun while meeting other ladies
• St. Patrick’s Day Dinner – experience the ‘luck of the Irish’ while snowshoeing deep into the forest for an authentic Irish dinner & entertainment

Snowmobiling

New at the resort this year is Silver Star Snowmobile Safaris, providing outdoor fun for both adults and families. Two-hour afternoon tours depart daily at 4pm and 6:30pm. Guests enjoy Silver Star from a totally different perspective, travelling throughout the entire perimeter of the resort's skiable area which is close to 30Km! Guests enjoy a true mountainous tour - cruise down Silver Woods, around Putnam Creek and then climb back to the summit of Vance Creek - through a varied mix of open terrain and tree laden trails. These unique tours provide truly spectacular vistas that most skiers/boarders would never see, including Alder Point and even the twinkling lights of Vernon miles below.

The machines are brand new 2007 Artic Cat Panther 660 Touring sleds and are smokeless, quiet engines designed for up to two riders and come complete with all the cool options - even heated grips!

For the juniors, try a specially-built "motocross style course" where children ages 7-12 years can power their way on brand new Artic Cat machines. These sleds will no doubt guarantee endless fun and plenty of smiles! Drop by and visit the track - Silver Star Snowmobile Safaris is located in parking lot D, across from Tube Town.

Day Spas

Beyond Wrapture Mind and Body Care Day Spa and Retreat at Silver Star Mountain Resort offers a wide variety of luxurious treatments that allow you to pamper yourself the way you deserve. Committed to “nurturing the tree aspects of body, mind and spirit” the spa specializes in aromatherapy treatments, the art of using various essential oils to stimulate or relax the nervous system. Possessing a keen interest in the Ancient Healing Arts, founder Debra Pender has introduced unique services to her spa menu and continues to develop trend-setting relaxation therapies.

National Altitude Training Centre

Featuring a rock climbing wall, state-of-the-art fitness centre, day spa and a waxing room, the National Altitude Training Center is an excellent place to spend your time when you’re not hitting the slopes.

Climbing Wall

Challenging and fun for all ages, the indoor climbing wall is 19 metres wide and 7 metres high. It offers varying degrees of difficulty for different skill levels and features two chimneys and a bouldering cave. Drop in or book your whole group. Equipment, instruction, belaying device, harness and shoes are all available.

Fitness Centre

You can stay on track with your fitness routine at NATC. The fitness centre has all the equipment necessary for a complete workout.

Dog Sled Tours

Open your eyes to the beauty of Silver Star’s pristine back country with local dog sled tours. This is an experience like no other!

Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides

Enjoy a 20 minute sleigh ride through Silver Star Mountain's winter wonderland to the cozy Wild Horseman's Cabin where you will be greeted with a warm atmosphere and home-style cooking. All dinners are served with pan-fried potatoes, spaetzli, salad, bun, dessert and beverage.
