Thanks to the Okanagan valley's unique microclimate, Silver Star receives over 23 feet/7 metres annually of dry, feather-light, champagne powder snow. You’ll just feel the difference in the softness of the powder and the smoothness of the groomed corduroy.
With comfortable daytime temperatures averaging -5 C (23 F), it’s cold enough to keep the snow light and fluffy, yet perfect for skiing, riding, and cross country skiing and other winter activities.
Variety of Terrain…
Don’t be fooled by the mountain’s good looks, there is over 1240 hectares of uncrowned terrain over two very different mountain faces - Vance Creek and Putnam Creek. Serviced by the Comet 6-Pack Express, Vance Creek offers some of the most immaculately groomed cruising runs anywhere. Wide-open spaces, uncrowded slopes and great views characterize many of the runs.
Silver Star definitely has a dark side. Putnam Creek is thrilling. With over 60 runs serviced by the high-speed Powder Gulch Quad, Putnam Creek is renowned for deep powder snow, wicked diversity and vast terrain. Many of the black diamond runs are winch groomed nightly creating steep fall line cruising.

Silver Star’s Victorian-themed, mid-mountain village offers charming, comfortable ski-in, ski-out accommodation for every budget. Easy to Get There…
By Air: Kelowna International Airport (50 minutes drive), with regular scheduled flights from points across Canada and the US, is serviced by Air Canada (Air BC), West Jet Airlines and Horizon Air. These airlines are partnered with many of the international airlines and fly non-stop to Kelowna from Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Seattle. A quick shuttle service takes you from Kelowna International Airport to Silver Star Mountain.

Silver Star is well known for hosting fun-filled activities – imagine racing down the mountain on a tube at Tube Town, skating on the natural outdoor skating pond, taking a snowmobile tour, snowshoe tour, or nostalgic sleigh ride. Silver Star’s ‘Focus on Family’, village comes alive every night of the week with fun, free events - carnival nights, fireworks extravaganzas, movie nights, and live entertainment - you can even enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows by a roaring outdoor bonfire and watch a traditional game of ice hockey.

Silver Star’s Bombardier BR 275 grooming machines are operated by Canada’s number one grooming team. Each night after the chairlifts close, the team of groomers set out to till the front side of the mountain to deliver velvety swales of corduroy so you can cruise, and cruise fast! Silver Star's award-winning grooming team helped pioneer winch-grooming of black diamond runs as well as its renowned blue and green trail system. That is why they groomed the Downhill and Super G courses at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics!
