This is what the perfect winter vacation should be - two side by side mountains with a pedestrian village nestled at the base. Whistler Blackcomb has the largest skiable terrain (8,171 acres/ 3,307 hectares) and the highest vertical drop (5,280 feet/ 1609 metres) of any ski resort in North America. Between the two mountains there are over 200 runs, three glaciers and twelve alpine bowls, all accessed by 38 lifts. For winter 2006-07, Whistler Blackcomb opened up the new Symphony Express chair - a high speed quad chair connecting the bottom of Flute Bowl to the peak of Piccolo. This new lift accesses over 1000 acres of intermediate and advanced terrain in Whistler’s newly crowned ‘Symphony Amphitheatre’. Named for it’s spectacular natural theatre, the region boasts vast open bowls, deep snow, gladed finales and unmatched views.

Terrain Park
The Whistler Blackcomb Nintendo Terrain Parks are seriously big; in fact you’d need 28 football fields to fit them all in! With two pipes, one night pipe, a snow cross track and five park runs for every level, our terrain parks are some of the best in the world. But here it isn’t just about size. Innovative construction and grooming, expert coaching and the industry’s top pros on hand for inspiration and entertainment, make this place pretty much the centre of the snowboarding and free-skiing universe. Our features are built for skill and confidence progression and are rated from small to extra large, so that everyone can be part of the scene.
On Mountain Orientation Tours
Where do you begin on two mountains that cover more than 8,000 acres? Start with an orientation tour offered by our Mountain Hosts. Get ready to have your eyes opened to some of our best skiing and riding, available for intermediate and expert skiers and riders. Whistler Blackcomb is pleased to offer complimentary orientation tours daily at 11:30am during the winter. The tours are approx. 1.5 hours. Meet at the top of the Solar Coaster chair on Blackcomb or the Guest Satisfaction Centre on Whistler.
Mountain Cafes
Whistler Blackcomb has 17 food and beverage outlets between the two mountains and both mountains offer a large diversity in food choices. You can take a 10 day holiday here and you wouldn’t have to eat lunch at the same place twice.
Each place offers a unique dining experience with some awesome views. Choose your favourite spot to sip and savour from cozy alpine huts, open-air barbecues, quick-service deli's, and grand mountain-top lodges. Dine in casual elegance at Christine's on Blackcomb or Steep’s Grill on Whistler, then join the hottest après scenes in the valley at the Garibaldi Lift Company, Dusty’s or Merlins.
Grooming
Whistler Blackcomb offers an authentic big mountain experience – the natural features of the mountains offer bowls, steeps, tree skiing and chutes for the more adventurous skier/rider.
If cruising the groomed runs is your preference, there are plenty of those too. Be sure to grab a trail map before you head up the mountain and check the daily grooming maps at the bottom of the mountains and in the on-mountain restaurants to show you which runs were groomed overnight.
Fresh Tracks Breakfast
Are you an early bird? Fresh Tracks gives you early loading privileges on the Whistler Village Gondola between 7:30am and 8:30am daily, and takes you to a mountain-sized breakfast buffet at the top of Whistler Mountain at the Roundhouse Lodge. Then, as soon as Whistler Patrol gives the okay, you’re free to take an extra helping of powder or perfectly groomed corduroy on the upper mountain.
You need to purchase an additional Fresh Tracks ticket in addition to your lift ticket.
Fire & Ice Show
The Fire & Ice Show is your ‘Welcome to Whistler’! Join in the fun each Sunday night (mid December to early April) at 6:30pm at the base of the Whistler village gondola.
Fireworks, fire spinners and skiers and snowboarders jumping through a dazzling ring of Fire; these are all part of the Fire & Ice show. It’s your chance to learn what’s hot in Whistler-both on and off the snow!
