| Airfares: Should I buy or should I wait? |
Save on Airfares Now. Do not pay more later
- Fact: Airfares make up about 40 – 50% of your total holiday cost.
- Fact: Last year when the “Big R” really hit, the airlines were caught with their pants down. Before the going got tough in late 2008, Airlines had committed to scheduled flights, staff and passengers, so they had to fly those planes.
- Fact: In reality, airlines Worldwide struggled to fill the planes in 2008 + early 2009, and offered some great last minute deals to fill the empty seats.
- Fact: Times have changed.
Like every business, airlines need to make a profit, and in 2009/10, airlines have simply cut their cloth and reduced capacity and flights. For example, Air New Zealand now only fly to Canada 3 times per week, Last year it was 5 times per week. They have just scrapped an old Jumbo 747 400 and fly smaller, more efficient aircraft on that route.
 Fact: This same pattern is happening Worldwide in the airline industry.
GOOD NEWS:
It’s still a battle out there as airlines fight it out to get your bums in their seats. With reduced capacity and newer more efficient aircraft, airlines can still offer great deals. But, as always (except in late 2008), there’s only a limited number of discounted seats on each flight, and once they’re gone, they’re gone! Flights over Christmas and early January are already tight.
Don’t think that airlines are going to be caught out 2 years in a row.
Our recommendation: is to start thinking and acting sooner rather than later if you want the best deals on airfares. Plus combine those savings with our earlybird booking incentives to maximize the best value ski holiday.
Guaranteed Ski Day. What does this really mean?
Guaranteed Ski Days, or your Money back!. Skiing in North America is much more reliable than in NZ. There is seldom any ice, and mountain closures due to poor weather are almost unheard of. In all our years of selling snow holidays to Canada and USA, none of our clients have ever lost a day of skiing due to bad weather.
