Kids Ski Lessons at Breckenridge
Breckenridge ski and ride pros develop lessons for children that mix fun-filled adventure with on-snow knowledge and learning. This combination is designed to raise a child's confidence level and improve their skiing or riding skills.
Mountains of Discovery is enhanced by incorporating different ski and snowboard related themes each day and these themes vary throughout the season and include skier and snowboarder safety, race day, etc.
Ski lessons are available for children 3-13 years old and snowboard lessons are offered to children 7-13 years old, in beginner/novice, intermediate and advanced classes.
Locations: Lessons are offered at the Peak 8 base area, The Village at Breckenridge base area, and Beaver Run
At the conclusion of each adventure, conquering heroes receive a Peak Adventure Series award package, complete with cool gifts exclusive to Breckenridge Ski & Ride School. In any Ski and Ride School class lesson, ask to join the Peak Adventure Series. This programme is available at the Village, Beaver Run, and Peak 8. Begin with Mt. Massive and conquer them all.
The Breckenridge Children's Ski & Ride School is committed to providing enjoyment in a supportive learning environment for children ages 3-13. The program is consistently ranked as one of the top in the country. Additionally, the resort offers a nursery programme for visitors between the ages of 2 months and 3 years.
Special Kids' Trails at Breckenridge
Ripperoo’s Enchanted Forest
The home of Breckenridge Ski & Ride School’s friendly mascot, Ripperoo, this exciting kids' trail offers lots to view. The castle doggy door entranceway leads to the home of Ripperoo’s mouse friend, Broderick. Ripperoo’s other friend, Clyde the Polar Bear, also lives in the forest in his cozy igloo. Ski or ride across the exciting big and little dog crossings or take a stroll down the puppy path. Magical trees grow in Ripperoo’s forest: tennis balls and Frisbees to play with and Ripperoo’s bone snack tree. On the way out of the forest, pass through the Dog Bone Mine through the doggy door and ski out of magical Ripperoo’s forest and into the sunlight.
Dragon Trail
For a magical visit, enter the Dragon Trail if you dare! Join the exciting trail through the entrance of the “Ski-a-lot Castle.” Ride the bridge across the dragon moat - there may be trolls under the bridge. Continue until you come to King Carver’s Courtyard, where you can see the Dragon Dungeon, ski through the coils of the giant dragon’s body until you reach her friendly face. Either whiz down the dragon chute into the sunshine or go into the Dragon’s lair to warm up and have some hot chocolate. See if the Dragon has laid any eggs in her lair.
Haunted Forest
The Haunted Forest is for those with courageous hearts. Spider webs span the trees and skeletons and bats can be seen throughout the Haunted Forest. Ski or ride under the giant spider, but watch out for the haunted mine shaft.
Siderider Junction
Siderider Junction is a tree trail designed just for snowboarders, offering wide skiways through the trees and providing a fun challenge for beginner snowboarders.
5-6 Year Old Learn to Ride (LTR)
Classes are limited to three children per instructor to insure a comfortable learning environment. At 8:30 am, they'll meet their certified pro. They'll have lunch on the mountain and finish up at 3:45, giving you time for one run so they can show off their new moves.
Daycare
For visitors ranging in age from two months to three years, Breckenridge’s Children Centers provides the best in indoor and outdoor activities. Offering quality full- and half-day childcare from Peak 8 and The Village at Breckenridge on Peak 9, Breckenridge Ski Resort’s childcare allows Mum and Dad to relax and enjoy a day or two on their own.
In-Home Childcare at Breckenridge
Summit Sitters offers in-home childcare for children of all ages. Day and evening care, reservations required.
Ski / Play Programme
For little skiers, the Ski / Play programme may be ideal. Specifically designed for the younger students who may not be up for a full day of skiing, this programme provides a full day option for 3 and 4 year-old children. Half ski school and half day care, participants start off with his or her ski school class and have a great morning on the mountain. Lunch is eaten with the rest of the class, and then off to daycare for indoor fun.
In Town Activities for Kids
Off the mountain kids can chose from a number of activities including arcades, shops on Main Street, three ice rinks – two outdoor and one indoor, swimming pools and hot tubs, a full-service recreation center, sledding hills and more.
