Terrain Park
Jackson Hole is a giant playground, but they also have a two great terrain parks and superpipe. Located on Moose Alley between the Teewinot Quad and Eagle's Rest Double Chairs, the Little Britches Mini Park is a great spot for freeskiers and snowboarders of all ages to get their first taste of the park or to get those tricks dialed in before taking them to the bigger features in the Rodeo Grounds. Rodeo Grounds is an advanced level park with large rails, jumps, and terrain features, located on on Apres Vous, between lower Hanna and lower Werner, next to the superpipe. The superpipe is 450 feet/137 mtrs long with 17 foot/5 mtr walls, cut by a Zaugg Pipe Monster, and served by a dedicated rope tow.
Snow Hosts
Since the 1999-2000 season, Jackson Hole has allowed skiers and snowboarders to exit the ski area boundary via gates along the perimeter. Not only is this practice unprecedented for ski resorts in the US, but it allows access to thousands of acres of backcountry skiing. Experience world class terrain with European style off-piste access by hiring a Backcountry Guide to show you the way and teach you how to travel safely in the backcountry. They offer personalized guiding services for advanced skiers and riders who wish to discover untracked slopes, secret runs, and the best snow conditions Jackson Hole has to offer. The experience is one that can be made up of touring, hiking, snow science, mountaineering, and downhill riding. All of which you and your guide can personalize to meet your needs.
Mountain Cafes
Teton Village offers a unique variety of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner guaranteed to impress the well-travelled and keep the locals coming back. Ride the Bridger Gondola to 9,095 feet/2772 mtrs and enjoy an elegant lunch or dinner at Couloir, consisting of simple, seasonal tastes in a high alpine setting. A contemporary lunch menu, a five course fixed price dinner service and a full bar compliment the craggy rock surroundings and incredible valley views. Headwall Deli – also at the top of the gondola - is a casual restaurant designed with the hiker, sightseer or adventurer in mind and features a selection of gourmet sandwiches, ice cream and fresh baked sweet goodies. Base area cafés, saloons, sushi bars & elegant restaurants offer a delicious variety of entrees from native wild game to fresh daily seafood.
New Tram for December 2008
On August 9, 2006, Jackson Hole announced their intention to enhance the legacy created over the last 40 years by committing to build a new 100 passenger, state of the art aerial tramway from the base in Teton Village to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain, which will cover a vertical rise of 4,139'1262 mtrs in just 10 minutes. This lift will have the longest continual vertical rise of any ski lift in North America. JHMR has contracted with Doppelmayr/CTEC to construct the new Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Aerial Tram and anticipates a scheduled opening December 2008.
